Football, of the association variety, is obviously the main concern of this blog, but of course there are many other sports where competitors are identified by their numbers.
We’re sure that many of you will be familiar with John Madden, who lent his name to a very successful American football video game series. Before that, he was a successful coach and penned a number of books. In one of those, entitled One Size Doesn’t Fit All, he gave his feelings on why certain celebrities suit particular numbers. It’s batshit mental, but it’s still fascinating.
